A meaningful catch-up during the semester break 🇩🇪🇲🇾

It was truly heartening to meet Atiqah, who is back in Malaysia for her semester break from OTH Amberg-Weiden, together with her mother.

What began with initial hesitation has evolved into a journey defined by new friendships, new challenges, and profound personal growth. Atiqah shared how pursuing her Master’s degree in Germany has expanded her world well beyond the classroom — from adapting to a new culture to traveling across Europe and visiting places she had never experienced before, including the Alsace region.

Academically, she is doing very well and is now looking forward to continuing the remainder of her programme with confidence and clarity. Today, there is no regret — only conviction that choosing Germany was the right decision.

One moment stood out to me most: the genuine smile and laughter of her mother. Behind every successful student abroad is often parents who chose trust over fear and provided steadfast support, even when the journey felt unfamiliar. Her confidence today speaks volumes.

This is why we believe in sharing first-hand perspectives from both students and parents. Germany may not always be the first country that comes to mind for higher education, but stories like Atiqah’s show why it deserves serious consideration.
